I Am a Queen
I Am a Survivor

Children are off-limits, cute, tiny, and innocent.  You promised me ice cream, but instead, you made me scream.  Basements were dark and scary, you knew I was gonna cry. I asked, will the boogie man get me?  You said no, take my hand and don't ask why! It was too late before I realized, it was all a big lie!!! There you stand before me, exposed right before my eyes!!  You then took me, you hurt me!  I was just a child, I could never hurt you; not even if I tried.  I prayed to God, please make him stop, because each time you touched me, I wanted to kill myself, I just wanted to die!

God answered my prayers. However, the damage was already done. Here I am a child, left violated, broken, and numb.  As the years went by, I only had time to borrow, and there were many nights I cried because I wasn't looking forward to tomorrow. I wanted to end all the pain and feelings of despair. These thoughts inside my head were too much to bear.  I can't keep reliving these memories, it's disrupting my life; it's so not fair.  I prayed again, please help me, God! He said come to me, my child, lay your burdens at my feet.  Believe and receive that I will set you free, I'll catch you when you fall, and I'll save you from it all.  I believed and received, and because of the grace of God, I'm stronger and much wiser.  So here I stand, a Queen and a Survivor!

High waist red pants with splits

I breathe the same air you do. I have two arms, two hands to hold you.  I have two legs to stand on and two feet to press against the pavement, the grass, and the sands in which my Lord walked on when he carried me when I got tired of running behind you. I'm soft, like a delicate flower, with so many curves, but yet you misuse and abuse them because you say I don't know how to use them. My hair can be worn in many ways, and if I choose, it can look like yours. Manish, I'm not, but that's what you called me. It's not even a word boo, check your vocabulary.

Who am I?

My voice is a notch higher than yours, on a low key? It can be raised on the highest key when I'm not heard. Although I have ears to listen to you, they're damaged by harsh words loudly spoken through your voice, and by painful blows from your strong hands.

Who am I?

You say I use what I have as a tool to entice you. If this is the case, why is it that you don't know how to use it? Tools are supposed to work if you know how to use them, right?  So please tell me, who am I? Emotional yes, I am, and I'm not afraid to say it.  My creator made me this way, so yell at him, not me. I gave birth to a nation in rage, so don't blame me you helped me create it.  My past, was filled with liars, let downs and leeches. Lord knows this wouldn't have happened if the world I gave birth to worshiped the ground I walked on and loved me as much as my creator.  So I ask you again,

Who am I?

Look, God gave you two arms and two hands to hold me, but you don't!  God gave you two legs and two feet to stand beside me and stand up for me, but you won't!  He gave you two ears to listen to, but you refused to use them.  God gave you two eyes to gaze upon mine so that you can realize that I am wonderfully, and fearfully made, but you only see me as competition and not an equal.  Am I that powerful? He gave you lips to kiss mine and vocal cords to say I love you. I'm sorry, I understand, I believe in you, but instead, you want to destroy me.  How dare you! You came from my womb!

Who am I?

I am your Mother, your Grandmother, your Sister, your Aunt, your Niece, your Girlfriend, your Wife, your Lover, and your Ex!  If I want, I can be your worst damn nightmare. Time after time, you've disrespected me and treated me like your enemy.  Remember this, if nothing else, just as I brought you into this world; I can take you out, so never forget who I am!  I am a woman, a Queen, wonderfully and fearfully made!

Parents, pay attention to your children. Have those uncomfortable conversations just to make sure they're good.

Teach them early to run and tell that, and no matter what, always take action! Because children are always in the presence of adults when you're not around.

Check them, coach them, let them know you'll protect them, and most importantly, tell them you love them, and it's not their fault, and then call your local authority to take action.

Sexual, physical, verbal, and mental abuse is unacceptable, and it's not your fault. Even though you were victimized, you're not a victim. You are a winner and a survivor. It's okay to cry, scream and shout! Whatever you do, get it all out. Then shake it off, stand tall and say enough is enough, and then take action for your life. Please see below how to seek help.

Violence against women and children has to STOP! When you harass or vilify, you are not only disrespecting us but also yourself.  Sexual, physical, verbal, and mental abuse are all acts committed by a person who in fact, has no self-love and no self-respect.  Our innocent, precious children are our future and are off-limits, and women are a gift from God to love our partners and to bear our children! When we say NO!  NO, means NO, and when we say STOP, you better STOP! Would you want someone to violate you? Think about it!  Well, maybe someone did, and I'm sorry, but it doesn't give you the right to violate others.  Get help and find it within yourself to love yourself and others.  We are all God's children!

Love Yourself

Love yourself enough to take the actions required for your own protection and for your own happiness. Enough to cut yourself loose from the drama-filled past and people. Enough to set a high standard for relationships with your partner, family, and friends. Enough to feed your mind and body in a healthy manner. Enough to forgive yourself. Enough to be strong and enough to move on. Remember, you are enough!

Isaiah 40:30-31

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
